Keeping secrets was essential during the Revolutionary War. Names of key figures, locations and words were hidden in passages that could only be "read" with the use of code books. Words were written with "invisible ink" on a blank piece of paper. After the invisible ink dried, another text was written on top. The hidden, secret message was not only invisible, but also doubly protected through the concealment of additional writing. The hidden message would be revealed when a special solution was applied to the surface. This Enrichment4You e-guide includes the following: - *An overview of Colonial & Revolutionary era spies
- *Character Development Statements
- *Extensive Vocabulary Lists
- *A Writing Recipe to describe a Revolutionary era spy
- *Step-by-step instructions with photographs describing how to make several concealed messages
